The more than excellent Tomoe River paper is most known for its smooth texture perfect for fountain pens (or any other writing tool).

The 52 grams paper (compared to 'normal' copy paper which tends to be 70 or 80 grams paper), was originally created to reduce bulk. Even paper this thin, it is resistant to bleedthrough and feathering, holds ink well, and it's acid-free.
